The ‘Sand Glass’ traffic lights by Thanva Tivawong are a great idea to prevent drivers to race through traffic.

Can we build it? Yes, we can!
Our Dutch neighbours have come up with an amazing new technique to build roads.
Tiger Stone paves the streets in no time, like rolling out a carpet. Their revolutionary machine can pump out 400 meters of road a day in any desired pattern. Can they build it? Yes, they can!

Blooming In The Wind
Where in the world can a creative agency build crazy architectural concepts? Dubai of course. This tower is made of a metallic frame with attached sails. The sails can move freely in the wind, open at night and close during the day. They collect dew from the air for the daily usage of water in the tower. The vibration of the sails serves as a source of natural energy. More info on the site of the creators: cargocollective.com/mekene.

Introduction
Hi there !
Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog. For those of you who don’t know me, here’s a short summary...
My name is Alexandra. Some people call me allie, ‘cause basically it just sounds cooler (note the lower-case letters, it also seems way more hip that way). I could have used a triangle in ▲llie, but that would just take the whole thing overboard. I’m a 24-year-old Belgian girl from Ghent currently working as a toy designer.
I started blogging on Facebook, weirdly enough, without actually realizing it. I created an album called “Picture of the day” in January 2009. What I wanted was to share images I thought were funny, smart and stylish. The pictures I posted were about advertising, graphic design, interior design, fashion, lifestyle, illustration, photography, technology, toy design, street art and beauty in any kind of form. My facebook friends told me how much they liked it and other people I didn’t know started adding me because they were specifically interested in POTD. It was inevitable that I had to start a blog.
Initially I didn’t really see myself blogging. I’m not a writer, I don’t go to events every day and I don’t strut down the street in high heels and faux fur to tweet about my fabulous harem pants or my avant garde turban on my head. But I think this might help in my attempt to make people laugh, think, move, inspire and aspire by looking at static or moving images.
Hope you’ll enjoy,
allie
